Lifestyle photography:

This is not your typical studio photography. Lifestyle photography will show you and your family in your home environment, your backyard or your favorite neighborhood park. It’s about you, your family and your relationships.

Every session is different and depends on your expectations and style preferences . . . and sometimes it depends on the weather. We will discuss the options and alternatives before the session date. Sessions generally take between 1 and 2 hours.

During the session, you and your family will get my undivided and personal attention. Family sessions require some posing to ensure that everyone shows well in the picture. I also want to ensure that I show your family relationship in the resulting photographs.

Sessions with young children are more playful and opportunistic. You will be interacting with your child and I will catch those special moments. There is no need for special posing. As a parent you can relax because you do not need to ask your child to sit still and smile in front of the camera.

What to wear?

You should wear what makes you feel comfortable. Be yourself. Some suggestions: No shirts with big recognizable logos or words. Keep it simple. Coordinated clothing with the same solid tonal range works best. With a larger group two color tones can be used. Don’t worry too much about clothing. Even if everyone is wearing color-conflicting clothing, black&white pictures will come to the rescue. When the photos are taken in your house you can even go for a quick clothing change.

Photography results:

After your lifestyle photography session I will spend time to develop your picture for exposure, colors, contrast, etc. Within a couple of weeks I will contact you show the resulting images and to discuss what the next steps are. In most cases, when my schedule allows it, I will post a preview on Your Best Picture before that time. The next steps are selecting the pictures for further development and printing. That will be the hard part because there are many to choose from.

After you have made the selection, I will take those picture for further enhancement. Enhancement means ensuring that everyone looks their best. I reduce skin imperfections, check your teeth for spinach and anything else that seems out of place. Next on my list is checking the color in order to make further improvements and sometimes to remove all color and turning pictures in timeless black&whites. Finally, I must ensure that the pictures are properly formatted and color-corrected for printing.

The final results will be available for pick-up within 1-2 weeks after making your selection. Any delays in processing due to my schedule or other unforeseen circumstances will be communicated.
